The label Closed has been synonymous with modern design and uncompromising quality since it was founded in 1978. Back then, two Frenchmen had the idea of starting a denim brand with Italian quality. Closed enjoyed its golden age in the 80s with the jeans model 'Pedal Pusher' and the iconic X pockets. At the start of the new millennium, university friends Gordon Giers, Til Nadler and Hans Redlefsen took over the business with the aim of moving Closed back into the foreground by creating genuine and sustainable jeans styles - and it was a success. Even Hollywood was wearing Closed again. All three owners brought the perfect specialist knowledge to the Closed brand from all over Europe – French creativity, Italian craftsmanship and German tradition – gained on their experiences abroad e.g. at Prada and Gucci. Gordon Giers is responsible for design and marketing and works on continually improving the products, Til Nadler takes care of sales, while Hans Redlefsen is responsible for the business’ finances. Closed collections now include head-to-toe fashion, from jackets through Closed jumpers and T-shirts to shoes. All of the products are manufactured in production facilities in Europe that the label has worked with for years; the distribution channels are fair and short. The products are woven, dyed and washed to achieve the end result of contemporary high-end denim.
