The success of the brand is founded on a collaborative Italian-American production. All designs for the label have been coming from Italy-based Andrea Cane since the 1990s. The origins and the idea of creating extra resistant and high-quality outdoor fashion, however, dates back to the early 19th Century, when the American John Rich and his brothers began creating sturdy coats of excellent quality for the workers at the local fish factory in his home town of Plum Run in Pennsylvania in 1830.

When Italian trend scouts came across these exclusive coats, Woolrich rose to fame beyond US borders and soon became an international premium provider for outerwear.
The famous “Arctic Parka” is now a Woolrich classic. It has become the flagship piece of every new Woolrich collection. Classic design, top quality finish, function and high-tech materials are at the root of the label’s popularity. The trade mark of the flagship parka: a striking fur trim, extra thick, insulating down lining, and the diagonally attached front pockets to keep hands nice and warm.
