Hannes Roether: Exceptional knitwear for men
He discovered the sewing machine at a young age and later became a knitting engineer and designed the men’s clothing that he wanted to wear himself but wasn’t able to find. Hannes Roether has never really got used to the success of his own designs. The media-shy designer doesn’t like to appear in public and prefers to let his collections speak for him. Since 2004 he and his wife have been creating linear designs for his label, which was founded in Munich, under his name, Hannes Roether. The artistry and passion that goes into his knitted designs can be seen in his knitwear, as well as in his T-shirts, shirts and trousers: Unusual silhouettes, a distinctive knitting technique whereby the jumpers and cardigans are knitted in one piece, and pure natural materials that show their rawness throughout all of their aesthetic and that develop to their full potential as they are worn. The knitwear artist even experiments with precious metals in his cool knitwear. Nature’s colours, like different shades of grey, black, white or blue, also give Hannes Roether men’s fashion authenticity and masculinity.
