Handmade Shirt Culture by Borrelli

In 1957, the foundations for the now famous men's shirt manufacturer Borrelli were laid with the establishment of the company by Luigi Borrelli in the Italian city of Naples. Luigi Borrelli learned his craftsmanship from his mother Anna, who was very skilled in hand-sewing. The manual shirt-making techniques passed down through the generations are still used to this day to give the creations their special character. The family business achieved a continuous level of growth thanks to Luigi Borrelli, and the brand also became a success outside of Italy for their special products. This was attributed to the uncompromising level of focus on their ever luxurious quality. Fabio Borelli, the son of the founder, eventually took over the running of the business in 1991.

To produce the premium Borrelli Italian-made shirts, some key process steps are still intricately done by hand today to give the perfect fit every time. The tricky details of a men’s shirt, like button holes, collar, sleeve inserts, shoulders, the hip area and button plackets are created by hand by the manufacturer. The result is like a small piece of art and is made for the style-conscious man who highly values quality and perfection. The collections are fresh, dynamic and feature various sophisticated elements that make each Borrelli shirt into something special. The creations are reinterpretations of traditional masterful tailoring and therefore highly contemporary.

An almost unbeatable wealth of varied styles guarantees the perfect shirt for every taste and preference. At Borrelli you won’t just find formal, flawless business shirts with shark collar, such as the model ‘Nando’, or with Kent collar for a sophisticated office look, or a stylish casual shirt for your free time, but also modern seersucker designs or vintage-inspired models based on cuts from the diverse archive. The variety of patterns, such as checked or striped, modern colours and collar styles is also impressive and features the entire spectrum from classic white or light blue to modern bright colours. The fit is also always perfect and the shirt itself exudes luxury. Although the classic men’s shirt remains the area of expertise for the Neapolitan label, Borrelli collections now also offer knitted goods, jackets, trousers and some high-quality accessories like belts, scarves and ties. They are perfect for combining with lightweight trousers in contemporary cuts. Borrelli swim shorts bring Italian chic to the beach and pool. Here at BRAUN Hamburg, you can shop a complete Borrelli look online that will guarantee a stylish appearance.

Was bedeutet 'Organic Cotton'?

The Oyster Capsule Collection

Why did we name our luxury collection 'Oyster'? It is the inspiring yet very natural specialness of the valuable Sylt oyster in the seabed. This natural originality also defines the jumpers, accessories and trousers from the 'Oyster' collection. We have provided a key piece from each product group with luxurious details down to the smallest element, with fine cashmere or precious mother-of-pearl – from the Sylt oyster, of course.

What does Eco Cashmere mean?

A second life for one of the world's finest natural fibres: the high quality of fine cashmere is predestined to be recycled and thus to reduce waste. For the eco-cashmere we use, pre-owned cashmere is carefully sorted, processed and, together with newly obtained fibres, spun into luxurious knitting yarn. We work exclusively with spinning mills in Italy, saving on transport and CO2 emissions – just one of the high standards of our own sustainability philosophy.
