Peninsula Swimwear for Men
The sun and sea of the Italian coast along Tuscany provide an inexhaustible source of inspiration for Edoardo Pasolini Dall'onda, founder and creative director of Peninsula Swimwear. He has been creating sustainable swim shorts and resortwear for Peninsula Swimwear in this paradisical setting since 2016. The label’s collections of shirts, swim trunks and other beach essentials for men offer a wide range of patterns and colours that express the magic of this coastal region and illustrate the brand’s close connection with the Mediterranean. Alongside swim trunks made of recycled microfibre, Peninsula Swimwear also offers classic shirts and trousers in airy linen, as well as espadrilles and beach towels. However, Peninsula Swimwear is the product of a desire to offer elegant, comfortable and sustainable swim shorts. Swim shorts with geometric print are already the label's signature essential piece.
ONE LOVE: THE OCEAN & MAIOLICA
Peninsula Swimwear's biggest concern is sustainable use of resources and protecting the oceans. Together with the Italian One Ocean Foundation, Peninsula Swimwear is fighting for clean and, above all, plastic-free oceans. Edoardo and his team also support and fundraise for non-profit organisations that are dedicated to these important issues. Peninsula Swimwear uses recycled materials to make its collections and only uses plastic from regenerative sources. It uses recycled microfibre and an environmentally friendly printing process to make its hand-sewn swim shorts with geometric print. All the label’s items are made in Italy, with raw material sourcing, printing and dyeing taking place in the Como and Varese regions. The brand's timeless shirts like the 'Stromboli' linen shirt are made of pure organic linen. Linen is a biodegradable natural fibre that hardly requires any irrigation during cultivation. Peninsula Swimwear's patterned linen shirts, airy shorts and graphic print swim trunks are OEKO-TEX® or Better Cotton Initiative labelled or are GOTS certified.
The connection to Italy is so strong that Pasolini Dall'onda has named his creations after Italian beaches – a declaration of love to his homeland. The graphic prints also refer to his roots. The decorative patterns for the swim shorts and shirts are hand-painted in-house, in strong colours like red, blue, green and yellow, and inspired by Italian ceramic paintings called ‘maiolica’. The brand's floral prints are also vibrant and inspired by the wild nature along the Tuscan coast. Having grown up in Maremma, Edoardo Pasolini finds his inspiration in nature: The play of light and shade, the sounds of the sea, the lush oleander bushes and the people enjoying summer on the beach. These sensual impressions inspire him to create geometric prints in bright colours.
