In the 1950s Maurizio Baldassari came here from his small coastal hometown of Lerici to discover the world of fashion – following an early passion and encouraged by his mother, Cirene. He established contacts with noteworthy fashion designers like Giorgio Armani and Nino Cerruti, and gained experience as a buyer in the men’s clothing department of the large department store "Rinascente".

In 1975, the time had finally come for him to design men’s fashion in line with his own vision, by setting up his own label as a designer. He brought out his first men’s collection in the 1980s. With a special passion for exclusive, smooth fabrics, Maurizio Baldassari creates modern, elegant menswear for sophisticated men, inspired by the casual and elegant vibe of Brera. He has conquered not just the European, but also the North American and Asian markets from his showroom, which is still in Milan. He believes that passion and curiosity about his environment are the factors for success – values that he has also passed onto his two sons, Renato and Roberto. They now run the family business, Maurizio Baldassari, in its second generation, and are responsible for the unmistakeable, sophisticated casual chic of the collections. Premium Italian fabrics and a consistent Italian-made appeal also ensure the quality of Maurizio Baldassari’s assured and confident fashions for men.
