Marni – the quintessence of innovative, intelligent high fashion. As a child, the eccentric top designer used to steal his siblings’ clothes from the wardrobe and altered them to fit him. He was certain early on that he wanted to study fashion – it was an opportunity for a rather uncommunicative young person to express himself. He was able to brilliantly combine and mix the old and the new for Marni, always coming up with something unexpected. For him, joy and wit are what makes fashion. Being a forward thinker, he is also concerned with sustainability, so he is always working away on sustainable production. Although the plan was for Marni to be a secondary line of the fur company belonging to Gianni Castiglioni’s father, the brand stopped using fur a long time ago and has replaced it with organic cotton and recycled polyester.
