Fray shirts for men
Perfection in every detail
The brand Fray for men has over half a century of experience in the field of shirt craftsmanship. They remain true to themselves and their style, only updating small details in the collections that are released year after year. The label's mission is: ‘We want every man who wears our shirts to know that he is visibly elegant.’
What materials and cuts does Fray use for men?
When it comes to fabrics, the brand takes care to select high-quality materials sourced from Italy and international suppliers. For this season, the brand offers pure cotton piqué, which is characterised by its slightly textured feel. Added to this is a slim fit that is close-fitting but never restrictive.
What colours does Fray offer for men?
Classic white shirts or subtle shades of blue and grey are perfect for meetings, presentations at the office and formal occasions, making them a must-have for the brand. Choose from the options, for example, a light blue cotton shirt, which you can wear with dark grey designer woollen trousers for men, a dark blue jacket and a pair of designer loafers for men.
What details distinguish Fray shirts for men?
Below, we provide an overview of the premium details you can expect from these models:
- Hand-sewn buttonholes: a hallmark of true sartorial quality.
- The seams: precisely executed on the shoulders, sides, sleeves and button plackets.
- The sleeves are sewn in by hand, giving them a flexible seam width that gradually narrows, resulting in an unparalleled fit.
- Mother-of-pearl buttons: these shimmer in the light and emphasise the quality of the garment.
- Ironed by hand: before a shirt is finally finished, it is ironed with a hand iron and then packaged.
- Collar: elegant shark collar.
- Further details: classic sports cuffs, back waist darts, slightly rounded hem.
Good to know: Before an order leaves the workshop, every Fray shirt for men is checked once again for quality and to ensure that it meets the brand's standards.
Where are Fray shirts for men manufactured?
The shirts are all made in Italy and bear the hallmarks of quality. For example, all seams are produced using extra-thin needles, allowing 10 stitches per centimetre and giving the shirt a completely different look.
When and by whom was Fray for Men founded?
Lucia Pasin laid the foundation for the brand in 1962 when she opened her first tailor shop in Bologna. At that time, a huge range of cultural and traditional influences came together there, blending with new ideas. To this day, unique quality and first-class craftsmanship play an important role in the family business. Together with her husband Giorgio Randi, the brand continued to develop internationally, and they now have a large ‘workshop’ in Casalecchio di Reno.
"Passion for your work is a strength that never runs out, and never wears you down. It’s like love: with passion and soul, you invest everything in yourself, in the certainty of being able to succeed without ever getting tired. I still work with the same enthusiasm that I used to have …", writes the founder on the Fray for Men website. Lucia Pasin has passed on this passion for craftsmanship to all her employees, ensuring that the company has consistently been at the forefront of men's fashion since its foundation.
