"Once upon a time there was Pantofola d’Oro" … it all began in 1886, when the Lazzarini family began their success story in Italian shoe-making. The company has footballer and satisfied wearer of their sports shoes John Charles to thank for their name which translates as golden slippers. While trying on the shoes, he was so impressed by them that he thought the term "football shoes" undersold the product, so he christened them "pantofola d'oro". Today, the shoes are not only loved by athletes, but also by everyone who values fashionable and comfortable footwear. It is not just the extreme high quality finish that make the shoes live up to their name: Golden elements incorporated in the design and particularly the obligatory three golden stars emphasise the stylish element in each model.
