Our Legacy: Minimalistic Scandi-chic
The claim of Swedish label our legacy could be "reduce, not add!". The label was founded in Stockholm in 2005 by Jockum Hallin and Cristopher Nying, joined a little later by the current CEO Richardos Klarén. The trio’s first intention was to develop the "perfect T-shirt". As the basic creations flew off the shelves of a wide variety of Swedish stores, the Scandinavians started to look for a new challenge from Our Legacy. The T-shirts were soon followed by a whole collection of urban, vintage-inspired fashion for men.
Hallin, Nying and Klarén take some of their inspiration for Our Legacy from Scandinavian minimalism, the subcultures of the 1990s and the pulsating techno scene. They mix the new with the old. They take clothes and accessories away from their origins and natural environment and give them a new context. Every look is completely authentic and totally natural. Wide, relaxed silhouettes are recurring motifs, for which the designers from Our Legacy like to use the name "box"; layering looks, muted colours, bold prints and exciting textures. The three men behind Our Legacy also enjoy experimenting with high-quality materials. The brand gives shirts, trousers, jumpers, T-shirts, cardigans, sweatshirts and shorts innovative washes or over-dyes. Our Legacy’s experimental work also includes hand-dyeing leather. The combination of washed-out materials and casual cuts gives a retro look and feel. The Swedish brand boldly and effortlessly complements expressive styles with cowboy boots, ankle boots, sneakers in runner design, Italian leather belts and caps and beanies.
