Sartoriale Herrenbekleidung Made in Italy

Caruso embodies the finest Italian tailoring culture and outstanding fit. A selection of distinguished fabrics, colours and silhouettes also forms the foundation of the company’s philosophy. True to the slogan “In menswear do as the Italians do,” “Made in Italy” here is not a mere phrase but a way of life. Caruso stands for longstanding Italian tradition and innovative visions. The goal is to create something with value and longevity. A product for true gentlemen—those who wear a Caruso suit or jacket do not display the brand or wealth, but style. Thanks to the perfect union of quality and elegance, Caruso has established itself as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-quality menswear.

At the end of the 1950s, the young tailor Raffaele Caruso became self-employed under the name Ma.Co. (Manifacture e Confezioni) and founded a company producing made-to-measure suits. In 1990, his sons Alberto and Nicola joined the business. Alberto assumed responsibility for production and management, while Nicola oversaw collection development, sales and marketing. Over the years, the tailoring workshop evolved into a company that combined modern production processes and machinery with traditional craftsmanship.

In menswear do as the Italiens do

In parallel, Alberto and Nicola further developed their own tailoring line under the name Raffaele Caruso. In 1992, the company Ma.Co. was represented for the first time in Germany and Austria by Enrico Borghetti from Munich. In 1994, Ma.Co. began producing the Baldessarini line for Boss, and the Caruso label was introduced to the German and Austrian markets. In 2000, Alberto and Nicola took over Ma.Co. and transferred it to Raffaele Caruso S.p.A., which went public on the Italian stock exchange in 2006.

Today, Caruso is one of the most modern European producers of sartorial menswear. In 2008, Umberto Angeloni, the long-time former head of Brioni, acquired a 35% stake in Raffaele Caruso S.p.A. This partnership aims to further strengthen the positioning and, not least, the international establishment of Caruso. Since 2009, Caruso has also been producing the new lifestyle brand “Uman,” created by the former “Mister Brioni.”
