Based in Copenhagen, created with friends and a name with a meaning – the men's brand NN.07 has a story to tell. The combination of the letters NN stands for "No Nationality", because instead of thinking in nations, the label focuses on individual personalities and the uniqueness of each person. The number 07 represents the year 2007. The aim of the brand and the two Danish founders, Victor Lindh and Ulrik Pedersen, is to develop garments that focus on today and tomorrow to think sustainably in both the short and long term.
Basics with a special look – this is how the NN.07 garments can be described. Inspired by impressions from all over the world, the styles have a distinctive and recognisable look: in addition to reduced garments for everyday wear, there are numerous textiles with special cuts, patterns and colours – so the brand has something for everyone in its repertoire. NN.07 for men combines quality with individuality to create sustainable fashion.
The first product developed by the label was the NN.07 Chino Simon 1000 – a timeless piece that should be part of every man's wardrobe. This and other basics are still in the range today: the label offers the classic white NN.07 crew neck T-shirt, the blue NN.07 jeans and the beige chinos. Exactly the kind of textiles that men can wear for years without going out of fashion – a basic idea of the brand. Once you have invested in timeless pieces, you can wear them forever and incorporate them into your everyday life. The brand's look makes it easy to mix and match.
But it's not just basics that you can discover at the label, men can also shop at No Nationality 07 for garments with that certain something. The collections include shirts with stylish stripes, modern all-over prints or NN.07 polo shirts with a fine knit design. Patterns and prints generally play a big part in the brand's styles, with different designs used in the pieces. Colours such as light blue, mint green or dark orange break up the minimalist tones.
The label mainly uses materials such as wool, down, cashmere, silk, mohair and leather, as they believe these are much more durable than artificially produced fabrics. In the long term, NN.07 aims to use sustainable synthetic alternatives for men that have proven themselves in the fashion world. The range includes garments made from linen, lyocell, viscose, polyester and recycled cotton. The brand produces items in materials that are made for each season, such as spring and summer. From sweaters and T-shirts in soft cotton to crocheted pieces, knitted shirts and NN.07 linen shirts. It's a similar story with trousers: light textiles such as NN.07 linen trousers are replaced by warmer garments for autumn and winter.
In addition to sustainability, NN.07 is particularly concerned with one thing, which is also reflected in the name: "No Nationality". The brand strives to guarantee equal wages for all, without distinction of gender or origin, and without discrimination of any kind. They are also committed to standards such as equal rights, the establishment of trade unions, responsible working hours and contracts. In the long term, NN.07 wants to make a difference not only with its fashion creations, but also with the activities that surround them: respecting the planet and the people who live on it, and minimising the impact of men's fashion in the world.
The men's label NN.07 is best known for the appearance of a particular item in the series "The Bear", which the character Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto, played by Jeremy Allen White, made one of his staple pieces in the show. The wool jacket called "Gael 8267 Jacket" has a black and grey patchwork look and features an edgy short cut. It has a zip fastening, a V-neck collar and two large side pockets.
