Haute couture from Paris since 1889: As France's third oldest fashion house, Lanvin has been making pioneering fashion creations for over a century. At the age of 22, Jeanne Lanvin laid the foundations for the Lanvin brand with a small hat boutique that would grow into an empire over the years. Lanvin built the boutique into one of the first large fashion department stores - inspired by her daughter Marguerite who became her muse and whose clothes she soon had to copy for friends and relatives. From 1909, Jeanne Lanvin dedicated a separate department to her fine cloth designs for women and children. These designs brought mothers and daughters from all over Paris to her store that had since moved to the prominent Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. Designer, tailor, business woman - thanks to her far-sightedness, Jeanne, who at the same time kept back from the French capital's strict and extravagant fashion scene, was always a step ahead of her contemporaries. From the 1910s, her assortment of women's and children's fashions was joined by suits, accessories, fragrances, furs and furniture so customers could surround themselves in modern Lanvin creations, not just from head to toe but also in their own home.

At the height of her success in the golden twenties, Lanvin swim and sportswear followed - and finally also a men's collection. Lanvin was therefore the first Parisian fashion department store to sell clothing for women, men and children under one roof. Jeanne Lanvin continued to put her heart into running her modern business until her death in 1946. First her daughter and then further heirs continued to manage it in line with Jeanne's vision. Today, Lanvin still honours the visionary spirit of its founder in every collection with exceptional designer fashion.
