About the designer

The name of the Italian fashion house Moncler S.p.A. – with French roots – is derived from the name of the hometown of founder René Ramillon, Monestier de Clermont. The outdoor label is best known internationally for its quilted luxury down jackets. Moncler was founded in the French Alps in 1952, and received worldwide praise and admiration, when he designed the official outfit of the French national Olympics ski team with particularly brightly coloured jackets in 1968. Since then, Moncler has been known as the “founder” of the fashionable down jacket that is both functional and trendy.
