The origins of the brand are on New Kings Road, where Jeremy Hackett and Ashley Lloyd-Jennings ran a small shop in 1983. The elaborately revamped second-hand pieces and accessories they sold there soon became iconic. At the time, nobody else offered a similar symbiotic interplay of traditional fabrics and contemporary silhouettes.
The collections of the label are to this day inspired by typically British high society events like horse or car races, polo tournaments, regattas and hunts. “There probably is no other country on Earth outside of England with a dress code for so many different events”, says Hackett. For him, it is not so much about fashion “must-haves” than it is about style and understatement.
That is why the collections have impressed fashionistas for more than 30 years with their continuity, quality and love for detail.
In 2012, the label received a special honour, when it was crowned the official menswear stylist of the EE British Academy Film Awards. Remaining continuously in motion, Hackett presented Pierce Brosnan as the new face for the brand. Most likely the perfect choice for an ambassador of British style.

His column, which he wrote for the daily newspaper “Independent” for years, culminated In his book entitled “Mr. Classic”. The famous photographer Garda Tang delivered the illustrations for it.
